MyInvois
MyInvois is LHDN's national e-invoicing platform that validates and stores all e-invoices issued by Malaysian businesses.
What is MyInvois?
MyInvois is the official e-invoicing platform developed and operated by Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN), Malaysia's Inland Revenue Board. Launched as part of Malaysia's national digitalisation agenda, MyInvois serves as the central hub through which all businesses must route their electronic invoices for validation before those invoices become legally recognised documents. The platform is accessible via a web portal at myinvois.hasil.gov.my and also via a REST API for businesses that prefer programmatic integration.
The platform works by receiving invoice data submitted by suppliers, validating the structure and content against LHDN's schema requirements, and then returning a unique UUID and QR code that confirm the invoice has been accepted. Once validated, the invoice is visible to both the supplier and the buyer through their respective MyInvois dashboards. If an invoice fails validation — for example, due to a missing TIN or incorrect UBL format — LHDN returns an error code so the submitter can correct and resubmit.
MyInvois has been progressively rolled out in phases based on business turnover. Phase 1 (August 2024) covered companies with annual turnover above RM100 million. Phase 2 (January 2025) extended to businesses with turnover above RM25 million. Phase 3 (July 2025) brought in businesses above RM500,000, and Phase 4 covers all remaining taxpayers. Each phase has been accompanied by a relaxation period during which LHDN does not impose penalties, giving businesses time to complete their integration.
The history of MyInvois traces back to Malaysia's commitment to the OECD's tax transparency initiatives and the government's broader plan under the Twelfth Malaysia Plan to modernise tax administration. An early pilot was conducted in 2023 before the official launch. The platform draws heavily on international standards including UBL 2.1 (for XML-based invoices) and Peppol's Pan-European invoice format adapted to Malaysian requirements as PINT MY.
Businesses that use MyInvois include every registered entity in Malaysia that issues invoices — from large manufacturers and banks to freelancers and food stalls. The platform supports multiple submission methods: manual upload via the web portal, direct API integration by in-house development teams, integration through certified accounting software, and submission via Peppol Access Points for cross-border or B2G transactions. MyInvois is not optional; it is the legal backbone of Malaysia's e-invoicing mandate.
